About our Open Mic Meetings
MP&W sponsors quarterly Open Mic events, which are usually called Final Fridays because they often fall on the last Friday of the month. Three or four Open Mic events are planned for 2010; they will be held at various locations. Some Open Mic events begin with a Featured Reader. When meetings are held at a campground or park, everyone is invited to bring a pot luck dish or snack to share. Networking begins at 6:30 pm and readings start at 7:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend, to share poetry and prose, and to visit with other writers.

Directions to Open Mic Meeting Sites
to The Wake and Bake Cafe:
Address: 59 South Main Street, in the McStiff's Plaza.

to the MARC:
From Main Street, turn onto 100 North, headed East. Drive to 111 East 100 North (northeast corner). Look for directions to the room (arrows or flyers) in the foyer.

to Rotary Park:
Going south on Main St., take a left at the Moab Information Center onto Center St. Follow Center St. to the stop sign on 400 east and take a right. Continue on 400 east for five blocks and go left at Dave's Corner Market on to Mill Creek Drive. Drive East on Mill Creek Drive to the Rotary Park. There are two different parking areas for Rotary Park; you can also park across the street at the Red Rock Elementary School. We meet at the East end of the park. You might want to bring a folding chair to sit on or a blanket for the lawn.

to Gold Bar Beach:
Drive on Hwy 191 North from Moab and drive across the river. About two miles to the west, before the Arches entrance, turn left on a road heading south. The Potash Road runs between the river and the cliffs (it is also the beginning of the Shafer Trail). Drive down this paved but narrow road a few miles until you reach a campground on the river side of the road (the left-hand side). The Gold Bar Campground is across the road from the Corona Arch parking lot. Meetings are held on a table in this campground. You might want to bring some bug spray.
