Final Fridays / Open Mic
MP&W sponsors montly Open Mic events, which are called Final Fridays. These are planned for the last Friday of every month. Sometimes the Final Friday events begin with a Featured Reader. During the summer months, the meetings are often held at a campground on the river or in a Moab City park and usually include a pot luck. During the rest of the year, Final Friday events are held either at Mondo Cafe or at the MARC (Moab Arts and Recreation Center). Networking begins at 6:30 pm and readings start at 7:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend, to share poetry and prose, and to visit with others in the Moab writing community.

Directions to Meeting Sites
to the MARC:
From Main Street, turn onto 100 North, headed East. Drive to 111 East 100 North (northeast corner). The Prose Group generally meets downstairs. Look for a flyer on the door or inside in the foyer.

to Seekhaven:
From Main Street, turn onto 100 North, headed East. Drive to 300 East 100 North (southwest corner). Poets need to enter the building through the door facing East.

to Rotary Park:
Going south on Main St., take a left at the Moab Information Center onto Center St. Follow Center St. to the stop sign on 400 east and take a right. Continue on 400 east for five blocks and go left at Dave's Corner Market on to Mill Creek Drive. Drive East on Mill Creek Drive to the Rotary Park. There are two different parking areas for Rotary Park; you can also park across the street at the Red Rock Elementary School. We meet at the East end of the park. You might want to bring a folding chair to sit on or a blanket for the lawn.

to Gold Bar Beach:
Drive on Hwy 191 North from Moab and drive across the river. About two miles to the west, before the Arches entrance, turn left on a road heading south. The Potash Road runs between the river and the cliffs (it is also the beginning of the Shafer Trail). Drive down this paved but narrow road a few miles until you reach a campground on the river side of the road (the left-hand side). The Gold Bar Campground is across the road from the Corona Arch parking lot. Meetings are held on a table in this campground. You might want to bring some bug spray.
